Richard L. DeFrancesco Sr. age 83 of Cape Coral, Florida, formerly of Steger, Illinois passed away peacefully on November 18, 2016. Beloved husband of 61 years to Joyce DeFrancesco nee Miller. Loving father of Debbie (Jim) Halvorson-Bush, Richard (Joyce) DeFrancesco Jr., and Michael (Kim) DeFrancesco. Cherished grandfather of Stephanie, Matthew, Nicholas and Lindsy. Great grandfather of Ellie and Anthony. Dear brother of the late Dolores Cimini and the late Robert DeFrancesco. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Richard was a US Air Force Korean War Veteran serving in England where he met his loving wife Joyce. He was a member of the American Legion, and was the owner of Suburban Furniture in Steger for many years until he retired and moved to Florida. Richard loved spending time with his family and enjoyed fishing. Memorial Visitation, Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until time of Memorial Service to celebrate and honor Richards life 7:00 p.m., at Smits, Steger Memorial Chapel, 3045 Chicago Rd, Steger, Illinois.
