Richard “Dick” Scheffers, age 74, of South Holland, IL passed away peacefully on Monday, March 27, 2017. Beloved husband of Judith Scheffers, nee Van Drunen. Loving father of Richard “Rick” Scheffers. Devoted grandfather of Nathan Scheffers, Annalise Scheffers and Trevor Scheffers. Dear brother of Jean (Fred) Hinrichs, Wilma (Ted) Koelikamp, Shirley (Martin) Rolland, Ronald (Shirley) Scheffers, and James (Janet) Van Ryswyk; brother-in-law of the late Dorothy (late Fred) Persch and Marilyn (James) Zinger. Visitation Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Cottage Grove Christian Reformed Church (16556 S. Cottage Grove Ave. South Holland, IL) with Dr. Joel Nederhood officiating. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery – Lansing, IL. Mr. Scheffers was a member of Cottage Grove Christian Reformed Church, and employed by Allis Chalmers, Kalmar – AC and Komatsu.
