Richard Mahnke Obituary

Richard Claude Mahnke, age 75, a resident of Crete, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 in Hazel Crest, Illinois after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on October 9, 1947 in Chicago Heights, Illinois.

Richard is survived by his sister, Jacqueline (late Raymond) Presley of Crete, Illinois, his brother Adrian (Carol) Mahnke of Beecher, Illinois, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Adolf and Leah (nee DuBridge) Mahnke, his brother, Brian Mahnke, his sister, Kay Phyllis Mahnke, and his spouse Pat (nee Barnhardt) Mahnke.

Richard was a spiritual man and was very active in his church in Morrison, Illinois. While living in Morrison, he also worked for General Electric where he later retired. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.

A celebration of life for Richard will be planned for a future date.
