Richard J. Porter

Richard J. Porter, age 89, of Mankato, Minnesota, formerly of Steger, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. Loving father of Richard Porter, David (Cynthia Schutt) Porter, Timothy (Jean) Porter and Crystal Keilman. Cherished stepfather of Lynn, Melissa, Sherry, and Charles. Dear brother of the late Beverly Garvick, the late James Porter Jr., the late George Porter, the late Marlene Brown, Mildred Ott, Carolyn Rankin, William Porter and Edwin Porter. Richard was preceded in death by his first wife Arlynn and his second wife Esther. Richard proudly served in the United Sates Army during the Korean War, was a part of the Steger American Legion for thirty years, and was a village trustee in Steger for over 20 years. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation to be held Saturday, January 21, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. at Smits – Steger Memorial Chapel, 3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, Illinois 60475.
