Loving mother of Annette (Allen) Umfleet, Janie (Butch) Keene and Richard Claus Jr., cherished grandmother of Amanda (Joe) Hill, Alison Umfleet,Travis and Natalie Keene, Danielle and Rebeca Claus, great-grandmother of Preslee Marie Hill. Rita is also survived by her sisters, Mary Jane Boehrnsen, Phyllis (Joe) Borsilli and Joanne Chickie Martin and her sister-in-law, Janice (Denny) Pelock and Sharon Sylvester. She was preceded in death by her parents Vincent and Jane Sylvester, a sister Louise Henn and a brother Jim Sylvester. Visitation Wednesday January 30th from 2:00 " 9:00 p.m. at the Smits Funeral Homes-Steger Memorial Chapel (3045 Chicago Rd Steger, IL). Funeral Service Thursday 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Calvary Cemetery " Steger. Rita was a retired Cafeteria Manager at Rich East High School and a member of the Crete Harley-Davidson Hog Club.
