Robert John Binder, Jr.

Robert John Binder, Jr., age 83, of Mokena, IL passed away peacefully on Monday, April 9, 2018.  Beloved husband of Marlene Binder, nee Nagel.  Loving father of Robert (Susan) Binder, Susan (Daniel) Daluga, and Linda (Steven) Luke.  Proud grandfather of Matthew (Tami) Luke, Andrew (Sara) Daluga, Grant (Ana) Luke, Derek, Linsey, and Cailey and great-grandfather of Chance, Blake, Cheyenne, Filly Lynn, and Gabriel.   Son of the late Robert and Ruth Binder. Dear brother of the late Barbara (Frank) Witte.

Bob was born in Chicago, Illinois and lived in or near Chicago his entire life. He loved his Chicago teams, the Cubs, the Bears, the Blackhawks and the Bulls. Bob loved to play sports and he loved the outdoors. He was an accomplished 16" softball pitcher, playing softball well into his 70s. He also loved to bowl, golf, and hike. Bob was a council member, youth group sponsor for the junior and senior league and Sunday school teacher at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Bob was a retired architectural engineer. He worked for Continental Can Company which eventually became Crown Cork and Seal.

The greatest love of Bob’s life was his family. He was so loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Memorial Visitation, Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 651 E. 166 ^th St., South Holland, IL with Rev. James Swanson officiating.
