Robert “Bob” A. Guntorius, age 73, of Sauk Village, IL, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2016. Beloved husband of Theresa Guntorius, nee Simard, and the late Sandra Guntorius, nee Donnan. Loving father of James (Sandra) Guntorius, the late Christina (Thomas) Ireland, Mary (Jeffery) Cripe, Thomas (Crystal) Guntorius, Constantine “Buddy” Shaw and Kimberly (Harry) Cowan. Cherished grandfather of Jamie Ireland, the late Nicole, T.J., Jimmy, Bobby and Michael Ireland, Brandy (Matt) Eddy, Lee (Shannon) Cripe, Meghan (Erik) Vaundry, Brian Sisson, Nicole (Roger) Porter, Robert “Bobby” Guntorius, Austin Guntorius, Joshua (Brooke) Lemler, Maggie (Garrett) Waugaman, Cortnie Shaw, Tiphani (Chadwick) Shope, and Britnei Cowan. Great-grandfather of 27. Dear brother of the late William (Oonugh) Guntorius, Beth Peska, Margaret (William) Madden, Michael (Valerie) Guntorius, Bruce (Brenda) Guntorius, Kathleen Guntorius, Timothy (Jessica) Guntorius, Paul (Merry) Guntorius, Edward (Mary) Nielson, Karen Wyka, Sandra Harling, Robert (Dawn) Nielsen, and Barbara (Kevin) Fisher. Uncle and friend to many. Best friend of Al Stoffregen and Ed Myers. Preceded in death by his parents Bruno and Cora Guntorius and Robert and Helen Nielsen. Visitation Friday, October 21, 2016 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Church (One Wilhelm St. Schererville, IN). Member of Palace Masonic Lodge #765, Crete Masonic #763, past D.D.G.M. Masonic Services will be conducted under the direction of the above lodges. Past member of the Sauk Village Fire Department.
