Robert “Bob” H. Osting, Sr., age 82 , of Knox, IN passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017 surrounded by his family. Loving father of Julie (Phil) Johnson, Janet Goodale, John Osting, the late William Osting, and the late Robert H. Osting, Jr. Proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of the late Don (Kitty) Osting, Joan (Truman) Smith, the late Jean (Ron) Ruge, William (Dorothy) Osting, Jim (late Lynn) Osting, Judy (Gene) Kasper, and Dan Osting. Kind uncle to many nieces and nephews. Beloved husband of the late Beverly Osting. Preceded in death by his parents Howard and Ruth Osting. Visitation Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. with a funeral service conducted by Rev. Tom Conde at 11:30 A.M. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Pleasant Springs Lane & Rt.30) Dyer, IN. Bob was a great man who loved to spend time with his family. He was an avid White Sox fan and also loved gardening, fishing, and football. He had a great sense of humor. He was loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
