Robert Jay De Bok, age 83, of Thornton, IL, passed away Monday, January 6, 2014. Beloved husband of Elene De Bok, nee Provis. Loving father of Cynthia (Michael) Doorn-Nylen, James (Joan) De Bok, and Randall (Rhonda) De Bok. Proud grandfather of Megan, Jessica, and Nicole De Bok and Nick and Sam Nylen. Dear brother of Lloyd (Willie) De Bok and Marge (Hank) Krygsheld. Visitation Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home 649 E. 162nd St. (Rt. 6/159th St.) South Holland, IL. Memorial service Friday, January 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at First Christian Reformed Church of South Holland 16248 South Park Ave. South Holland, IL -with services conducted by Rev. Ben Tol. Burial will be held prior to the funeral service at 9:30 a.m. at Chapel Hill Gardens South in Oak Lawn, IL. Memorial contributions may be given to Bethel College in St. Paul, MN or Guide Post Magazine. Mr. De Bok was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran.
