Robert E. Dalton, Sr., age 83, of South Holland, IL suddenly entered eternal life on Friday, November 25, 2016. He was a loving husband to the late Carol L. Dalton, nee Yudt, for 52 years. His free minded spirit is carried on by his four children: Susan (John) Peleck, Karen (Stephen) James, Robert (Diana) Dalton Jr. and Ronald Dalton. Proud Papa of Brittany (John) Richey, Breanna Glotzbach, Victoria James and Dalton James. Loving brother of Pat (late Jim) Cleveland. Cherished Uncle and Great-Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Robert A. and Marie (nee Coyle) Dalton. He was raised in Homewood, IL. Graduate of Thornton High School class of '51. Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Robert started a small corporation in 1973 which lives on through his two sons. He was an industrial coatings consultant and held two U.S. Patents. Visitation Tuesday November 29, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 6:30 p.m. at Smits, DeYoung - Vroegh Funeral Home, 649 E. 162nd St. (Rt. 6/159th St.) South Holland, IL 60473 with Deacon Jim Renwick officiating.
