Robert J. Derks, age 86, of Lansing, IL, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 3, 2019. Beloved husband of Eleanor Derks, nee Harmsen. Loving father of Daniel (Marilyn) Derks, Craig (Marisa) Derks, Jerry (Karen) Derks, and Linda (Jeffrey) Colvin. Proud grandfather of 13; great-grandfather of 23. Dearest brother of Janell (late Carl) Regnerus. Kind uncle of several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers, and by his parents Albert and Jeanette Derks.

Visitation Friday, November 8, 2019 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30 & Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN. Funeral service Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Bethel Christian Reformed Church 3500 Glenwood-Lansing Rd. Lansing, IL (please use east and west sanctuary doors) with Rev. Cal Aardsma officiating. Interment Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery – Elwood, IL.
