Robert Edwards, age 78, of Crete, Illinois, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2015. Beloved husband of Linda Edwards nee Banis. Loving father of Corey J. (Teresa) Edwards, Victoria (James) Gibson and Jason (Dena) Edwards. Cherished grandfather of nine and great- grandfather of one. Dear brother of Judy Gurney and John (JoAnn) Edwards. Visitation Saturday, December 12, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service 2:00 P.M.at Smits, Steger Memorial Chapel 3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, Illinois. Interment at Assumption Cemetery - Glenwood, Illinois. Robert was a U.S. Army Veteran and was the Head Mechanic for VanDerAa Bus Company for many years.
