Robert G. Bob Fennema, age 77, of Lansing, IL passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2011. Mr. Fennema is survived by his wife Grace Fennema nee Smallwood; four daughters: Gale (Robert) Boone, Lisa (Roger) Newenhouse, Kathy (Tim) De Vries and Rachel (Jacob) Darley; seven grandchildren: Darren Newenhouse, Dana (Carl) Pycz, Andrea Newenhouse, Derek Boone, Calvin Darley, Chloe Darley, and Camille Darley; one great grandchild: Hunter Pycz; four sisters: Edith (late Nick) Ridder, Jess (Harold) Winterhoff, Rosetta (late Robert) Fattore and Joyce (late Bud) Rinkema; three brothers: Bud (late Gerry) Monet Fennema, Andrew (Lois) Fennema Jr., and Gerald (Joyce) Fennema; one sister-in-law: Linda (late Sam) Walden and her family of Augusta, GA; and also his good buddy, John Kapteyn. Mr. Fennema was preceded in death by four sisters: late Grace (late John) Vander Zee, late Ann (late Cornelius) Lindemulder, late Dorothy (late Cornelius) Gouwens, and late Eleanor (late Rich) Hook; and by three brothers: late John (late Josephine) Fennema, late Gilbert (Minnie) Fennema and late Donald Fennema. Visitation Wednesday, October 5, 2011 from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt. 30 & Pleasant Springs Lane) Dyer, IN 46311. Funeral service Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Munster Christian Reformed Church, 214 Ridge Road, Munster, IN 46321 with services conducted by Rev. Tim De Vries, Rev. Jeff Bulthuis, and Rev. Herm Schutt. Interment at Oak Ridge Cemetery " Lansing, IL. Mr. Fennema was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Munster Christian Reformed Church. He was a carpenter. He volunteered at Bibles for Missions Thrift Store and CRWRC/DRS. Bob enjoyed being down in Georgia, walking in the woods, working around his pond and having breakfast at Miss Janes.
