Robert "Bob" L. Korte, age 87, of Dyer, IN, formerly of Lansing, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 28, 2015. Beloved husband of Carol Korte nee Boersma. Loving father of Ruth (Arthur) Wiers and the late Janet (Roger) Bruins. Proud grandfather of Caryn (Brent) Schierbeek, David Wiers, Christopher (Trisha) Bruins, Maxwell Bruins and the late Leslie Bruins. Dear brother-in-law of Violet (late Jacob) Korte, June (late Calvin) Ettema, and James (Susan) Boersma. Loving uncle to his special niece Kay (Ron) Ranola. Visitation Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 3:00 pm - 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN. Funeral service Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with services conducted by Rev. Jacob Dykstra. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens South - Worth , IL. Bob was a Korean War Army Veteran and a member of Grace Church in Lansing. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather; he enjoyed his work as owner of Quality Carpets in Lansing, IL which he began in 1960. Bob enjoyed fishing and winter vacations.
