Robert Leon Lindner, age 77, of Sauk Village, IL, passed away October 24, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Mary Frances Lindner nee Smotherman. Loving father of Charlene (Jim) Slawnikowski. Cherished grandfather of Jimmy (Aly) and Stan Slawnikowski. Dear brother of Wilma Garren and the late Fred Lindner. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Leon was an Army Veteran and retired from LTV Steel. Visitation Friday, October 27, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Homes-Steger Memorial Chapel (3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, IL.) Visitation Monday, October 30, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral 12:00 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home 6439 US 411 Benton, Tennessee. Interment at Benton Memorial Gardens - Benton, Tennessee.
