Robert L. Meyer, age 65, of Yolo, CA, formerly of South Holland, IL, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013 in Woodland, CA. Mr. Meyer is survived by one brother: Gary (Joy) Meyer; one sister: Carol (Glenn) Schaap, nephews and nieces: Ryan Schaap, Allison(Nick) Alons, Greg (Joanna) Meyer, Justin Meyer and Kristen Schaap; and his former wife and devoted caregiver: Iris Velazquez. He was preceded in death by his parents: the late Arnold and the late Petronella Meyer and one sister: the late Mary Ann (late Tom) Van Amstel. Visitation, Wednesday, May 8, 2013 from 3:00 P.M. until the time of the funeral service at 7:30 P.M at the Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN 46311 with services conducted by Rev. Ildefonso Torres. Memorial contributions may be given to Illiana Christian High School or the American Cancer Society. Mr. Meyer was a retired computer programmer with the Department of the Navy and Amdahl Corp.
