Robert H. Roop Jr., 66, of Momence, died Tuesday (Feb. 9, 2010) at Provena St. Marys Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Momence Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Don Keysor will officiate. Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. Arrangements are by the Momence Funeral Chapel. Mr. Roop was retired from Can-Do Metals of St. Anne. He was born June19, 1943, in Chicago Heights, the son of Robert Sr. and Elzora Smith Roop. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Momence Church of the Nazarene. Robert had a special place in his heart for his two granddaughters, Karson and Bella. Surviving are his wife, the former Fay Lambert; two stepsons and one stepdaughter-in-law, Preston and Kim Lambert, and Robert Lambert; three step daughters and stepsons-in-law, Debbie and Tony Lampley, Cheryl and Jeff Peterson, and Lori (Tim Minor) Oosterhoff; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Raymond and Debbie Roop, David Roop, Charles Roop, and George and Natalie Roop; and three sisters and one brother-in-law, Elaine and Tom Cortez, Sue Chote and Mary Keith.
