Robert B. Stegenga

Robert B. Stegenga, age 69, of South Holland, IL, went home to his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. Beloved husband of Cheri Stegenga, nee DeYoung. Loving father of Kyle Stegenga and Ryan (Alecia) Stegenga. Devoted Papa of  Jackson and Andrew. Dear brother of the late William (Candi Stegenga-Fry(Joe Fry)) Stegenga, Linda (John) Bumba, and Timothy (Laurel) Stegenga. Uncle of several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Genevieve Stegenga. Bob began his career with the South Holland Police Department in 1981 and retired as Deputy Chief in 2016. He was currently serving as a Court Security Officer for the U.S. Marshalls at the Dirksen Federal Building. He was a paramedic with South Holland for 40 years, and served as a cadet counselor with the Illiana Cadet Council for 43 years. He was a member of Munster Church in Munster, IN. Bob was known for his sense of humor and his love for his family, especially his grandsons. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Visitation Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Munster Church, 214 Ridge Road, Munster, IN. Visitation also on Monday, July 15, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at Munster Church with Rev. Jim Hollendoner officiating.
