Devoted father of Sue (Harry) Allison, Ronald (Tracy) Maietta Jr., Richard Mahaffey, Suzanne Herbst, Laura Foote, and Timothy (Jennifer) Mahaffey. Proud grandfather of 17; great- grandfather of 2. Preceded in death by his parents Rev. Michael and Esther Maietta. Visitation Monday, October 14, 2013 from 2:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN 46311. Masonic services will be held Monday at 7:30 P.M. Funeral service Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Jody Noble officiating. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery - Elwood, IL. Mr. Maietta was a United States Navy veteran CS2(SS) 1957-1962. He was a member of Ironworkers Local #63 and #395, a U.S. SUBVETS member, and a Masonic member of Palace Lodge #765 A.F. & A.M. Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of your choice.
