Rosalie Ann was born on December 28, 1935, in Hammond, IN, to the lucky parents Josephine and Frank. She had two brothers Victor and Robert and two sisters Mary Ann and Frances. Rosalie enjoyed her childhood years. She loved hanging out with her girlfriends. They loved to dance. So, on their weekends they went to the Dance Club. Then one night Rosalie and her girlfriends were enjoying their night out at the Dance Club and in he walked. The Town Bachelor, John Szarek. As he walked toward their table while the girls were all giggling, Rosalie and John locked eyes and instantly it was LOVE at first sight. The happy couple got married on June 11, 1954. Rosalie became Mrs. Rosalie Szarek. As time went on, they had six beautiful children. They were a fairytale couple.
Rosalie was a stay-at-home mom while John ran their business, Szarek Auto Sales in Hegewisch where they lived. Time flew by and the children all got married: Katherine (Terry) Nellemann, John (Pamela) Szarek, Richard (Tammy) Szarek, Nancy (Raymond) Matela, Sandra (late Randy) Merrick, Kimberly (Michael) Mucharski. In the years to follow, 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren came along. She was the proudest Gramma, Nana, and Gigi around. She was also an aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Rosalie’s favorite things to do were shopping, going out to eat, watching her soap operas, going to the casino, but most of all spending time with her family. The love of her life John went to Heaven in July of 2008. Rosalie peacefully joined him on December 15, 2023. We all believe they are dancing in a heavenly way as they did here on earth, they are joined by her loving parents, siblings, and her grandson Jonathan Szarek. Mom, you will be missed so much. We Love You All The Muches!!
