Roy E. Martin, age 68, of Crete, IL, passed away September 7, 2010. Beloved husband and best friend of Susan Martin nee Mansell for 49 years. Son of the late Arthur L. and Leola (nee Ewing) Martin. Loving father of Kim (Jeff) Paris and Christine Martin. Dear grandfather of Tiffany and Step-Grandfather of Jason Paris. Fond brother of Sharlene (Andrew) Miclot and Darlene (Late Irv) Maas. Nephew of Late Helen (nee Martin) and Harry Hering. Visitation Friday September 10th from 2:00 " 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Homes - Steger Memorial Chapel (3045 Chicago Road Steger, IL.) Funeral Service Saturday 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN. Roy was a Bloom High School and Friends of the University of Wichita, KS graduate, retired employee of the U.S Postal Service. Roy loved playing golf and spending time with his family.
