Russell Raiser

Russell Raiser, age 71, of Dyer, IN, formerly of Glenwood, IL, passed away Monday, June 1, 2026.  Loving husband of Lynn Raiser, nee Johnston. Devoted father of Matthew Raiser and Julie (Jack III) Gaham.  Proud papa of Madison Raiser, Jack Gaham IV, Donna Gaham, and Lucas Raiser. Dear brother of Kenneth (Joyce) Raiser, the late Arline (late Reiss) Brown, and the late Wayne Raiser.  Kind uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Frederick and Josephine Raiser.  Russ was the Chef at Cherry Hills Country Club for nearly 25 years, before running his own business, Apex Services.  He was an avid Bears and White Sox fan, enjoyed golfing, bowling, and gardening.  Russ was loved by his family, and many friends, and will be dearly missed.

Visitation Friday, June 5, 2026 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN. Visitation Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Russ’s funeral Mass, 10:30 a.m. at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer, IN, with Rev. Charles Niblick officiating.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the American Cancer Society (5635 W. 96th St. Suite 100 Indianapolis, IN 46278), appreciated.
