Russell John Reidenga, age 81, of Thornton, IL, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018.  Beloved husband of 62 years of Lois Reidenga, nee Boer. Devoted father of Jeff (Lori) Reidenga, Mark (Ruth) Reidenga, and Russ (Lisa) Reidenga. Proud grandfather of Kayla (Alex) Bulthuis, Rachel Reidenga, Renee (David) Finch, Jenna (Jason) Stoit, Dana Reidenga, Kyle Reidenga, Rebecca Reidenga, and Ryan Reidenga. Great grandfather of Tod Finch. Dearest brother of Dale (Penny) Reidenga. Proud uncle of several nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Anna Reidenga.  Visitation Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN. Funeral service Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with services conducted by Rev. Jerry Norman. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens South – Oak Lawn, IL. Memorial contributions may be given to Lincolnway Special Recreation Association or Joliet Area Community Hospice.
