Ruth M. Merritt

Ruth M. Merritt, nee Diekman age 93, of South Holland, IL, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018. Beloved wife of the late James Groeneveld and late Franklin Merritt Sr. Loving mother of Sharon Schuette, the late Franklin Merritt Jr., Charles (Bonnie) Merritt, and Wanda Merritt.  Devoted grandmother of 6 grandchildren: Jeffrey (Tracy) Schuette, Todd (Jean Burns) Schuette, Matthew Schuette, and the late Timothy Schuette and Stephanie Vrastil (Mark) and Scott (Heather) Merritt and 7 great-grandchildren: the late Justin, Kelli (Connor) MacLoed, Robyn, Austin, Shelby, Madison, and Connor.  Dear sister of late Violet (late Daniel) Holland, late Virginia(late Seymour) DeBoer, and the late Wesley (Lucille) Diekman. Kind aunt to several nieces and nephews. Ruth will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Smits DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home (649 E. 162 ^nd St. South Holland, IL).  Funeral service Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Community Church, 16341 South Park Ave., South Holland, IL with Rev.
