Salvatore P. Lanzafame

Salvatore P. Lanzafame , age 82, of Schererville, IN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 30, 2024. Beloved husband of Joyce D. Lanzafame, nee Pesceone.  Devoted father of Rick (Linda) Mitchell, Shawn (Christopher) Chelbana, Robin Taylor, the late Bradley McKendrick, and Jennifer Szura.  Proud grandfather of Jarrik Mitchell, Kristin Blomquist, Nicole Chelbana, Taylor Vescovi, Caleigh Chelbana, Paige Carta, Madison Chelbana, Travis Smith, Austin Cox, Isabella Cox, Bradley McKendrick, Mina Watson, Jayden Szura, and Bentley Szura; great-grandfather of eight. Dear brother of Fred (June) Lanzafame, Maria (Norman) Roney, Dorothea (Robert) Calvano, and Phillip (Chris) Lanzafame. Cherished uncle of several nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by his parents Phillip and Rose Lanzafame.  Salvatore was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Visitation Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. with a wake service at 5:00 p.m..  Prayer service Monday, April 8, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. from Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN to St. John the Evangelist Day Chapel 11301 W. 93rd Ave., St. John, IN, for a 11:00 a.m. funeral Mass.
