Sam Polletta

Sam Polletta, age 94, of Chicago Heights, IL, passed away peacefully May 11, 2014 in Chicago Heights, IL. Sam is survived by his Children: George (Gwen), Gary (Sandy) Polletta, Linda (Paul) Allegro and Karen (Ken) Carpenter. He is also survived by 8 Grandchildren & 15 Great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Minnie and by his brothers: Tony, Ralph, Hank, Frank & Joseph. Visitation for Sam will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon at the Smits Funeral Homes-Steger Memorial Chapel 3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, IL 60475. Interment will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery Steger, IL. Sam was a carpenter for most of his life working for Rosenthall Construction and he also worked for Prairie State College as director of maintenance. He is a W.W. II Veteran, a former member of Chicago Heights American Legion, Chicago Heights Purple Heart, Chicago Heights Moose Lodge and Volunteer Fireman for So. Chicago Heights, IL.
