Shirley Boer, nee Vander Giessen, age 89, of St. John, IN, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 27, 2021. Beloved wife of Marinus “Mart” Boer. Loving mother of Robert (Laurie) Boer, Linda (Scott) Dekker, and Elaine (Bill) DeYoung. Proud grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.  Dear sister of Eleanor Vander Giessen and the late Agnes Vander Giessen.  Preceded in death by her parents Adrian and Elsie (nee VanderZee) Vander Giessen.

Visitation Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN, with Rev. Jim Hollendoner officiating. The funeral service will be live streamed from our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/SmitsFH . Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery – Lansing, IL.
