Shirley M. Couwenhoven, nee Holleman, age 84, of Lansing, IL, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2011. Mrs. Couwenhoven is survived by her loving husband of 59 years: Cal Couwenhoven; three children: Bob(Lisa) Couwenhoven, Sue Couwenhoven and Jan Couwenhoven; four grandchildren: Kate and Kara Couwenhoven and Meghan and Bryan Vanderlee; two brothers: Clarence Al (Shirley) Holleman and Ken(Jean) Holleman; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 2 brothers. Visitation Friday, February 4, 2011 from 10:30 A.M. " until the time of the funeral service at 12:30 P.M. at the Lynwood United Reformed Church (1990 East Glenwood-Dyer Road Lynwood, IL 60411) with services conducted by Rev. Keith Davis. Private Interment at Oak Ridge Cemetery " Lansing, IL. Mrs. Couwenhoven was a former employee of the South Holland Bank and the Bible League. She was an avid sports person who enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling and loved the lake life. She was also a very passionate pinochle player.
