Shirley Mae Holleman, nee Lagestee, age 87, of South Holland, IL, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012. Beloved wife of Al Holleman (married 63 years). Loving mother of Christie (William) Smit. Cherished grandmother of Austin, Alicia, and Tyler Smit. Dear sister of Lenora(late Martin) Mulder, Elaine(late John) Eagan, Leonard(Betty) Lagestee, late Judi(late George) Pappas, late Wayne Lagestee, and sister-in-law of Betty Riddering. Cherished aunt of many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Shirley was a long time member of Bethany Christian Reformed Church and then, First Reformed Church in South Holland. She worked as a secretary at Bliss and Laughlin, Whiting Corporation and Thornridge High School. She loved spending summers water skiing at Bass Lake, IN and all her friends at the OPPO Boat and Ski Club. For 21 years she enjoyed Florida winters with her snowbird friends at the Water''s Edge Resort in Pine Island, FL. She taught us to love the Lord Jesus Christ, listen more than you talk, and be content in any circumstance. We enjoyed her sense of humor, selflessness, watching her do crossword puzzles in ink and her awesome Sunday dinners. Visitation Saturday, November 24, 2012 from 9:00a.m until the time of the funeral at 11:00 a.m. at First Reformed Church, 15924 South Park Ave., South Holland, IL, with Rev. Matt Waterstone officiating. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery - Lansing, IL. Memorial contributions may be given to Calvin Christian School or Illiana Christian High School.
