Steven Allen Morgan

Steven Allen Morgan, age 56, of Dyer, IN, formerly of Belpre, Ohio, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017. Beloved husband of Becky Jo Morgan, nee Potts. Loving stepfather of Nathan and Collin Eytcheson. Dear son of Anne and the late Richard Morgan. Fond brother of David (Amy) Morgan and the late Paul Morgan. Brother-in-law of Kary and Josh Vogel. Special nephew of Byron Bolin. Proud uncle of Haylee and Justin Morgan, and Alek and Annika Vogel. Son-in-law of Herb and Sharon Potts. Memorial visitation Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt. 30 & Pleasant Springs Lane) Dyer, IN with Rev. Andy Nearpass officiating. Mr. Morgan worked for the Illinois Racing Board in various capacities for over 30 years, twenty of which were as an Alternate Steward. Steve was respected by both his colleagues on the Racing Board and horsemen in the racing industry for his conscientious work ethic and his dedication to the integrity of the sport.  Steve was a proud alumnus of The Ohio State University.
