Steven M. Schilling, age 75, of Dolton, IL, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026. Dear brother of the late Susan (Robert) Gonya, Scott (Ann) Schilling, and Stanley (Cynthia) Schilling. Kind uncle of several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Charlton and Elsie Schilling. Steven was a longtime employee of US Steel and a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed.
Visitation on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN with Rev. Ryan Reese officiating. Interment at Oakland Memory Lanes—Dolton, IL. Memorial contributions may be given to Disabled American Veterans (www.dav.org).
