Theodore "Ted" G. Chapman

Theodore “Ted” G. Chapman, age 87, of Saint John, IN went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 1, 2021.  Beloved husband of Shirley Chapman, nee Tucker.  Loving father of Cindy (Mike) Poulsen, Melissa (Jeff) Anderson, and Ted (Kathy) Chapman.  Cherished Papa of Ashley (Mark) Spencer, Amanda (Nick) Porter, Alex (Kayla) Anderson, Riley (Ashley) Chapman, Elliott (Rachel) Chapman, Mackenzie Chapman, and Nikki (Jason) Colvin.  Great-Papa of Cole, Remi, Jay, Clay, Eisley, Brinley, Brecken, Braya, Elijah, Kinzie, and Zander.  Preceded in death by his siblings, William (Wanda) Chapman, Vince Chapman, and Dorothy (Paul) Gard, also by his parents, William and Elizabeth Chapman.

Ted was a proud U.S. Army veteran.  He was an active member at Lake Hills Baptist Church where he served as a bus captain, deacon, building committee, and choir member.  Ted also served as a Gideon.  He will be remembered as someone who loved others well.  Ted was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

Visitation Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Ln. Dyer, IN.  Visitation Friday, June 4, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Lake Hills Baptist Church, 9209 W 85th Ave, Schererville, IN with Rev. Phil Humber and Rev.
