Theresa Elizabeth Van Ort

Theresa Elizabeth Van Ort nee Loitz, age 90, of Steger, Illinois, passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 19, 2024.  Beloved wife of the late John R. Van Ort.  Loving mother of Debra (late Stephen) Charles, Diane Van Ort, John (Cynthia) Van Ort, and Patrick Van Ort.  Cherished grandmother of Court (Christine) Charles, Tyler Charles, Connor Charles, Caitlin Van Ort, and J Van Ort (P Bermas).  Great grandmother of Harper Charles and Hadleigh Charles.  Dear sister of Carol Duensing and the late George Loitz.  Preceded in death by parents Henry and Frances nee Pavlick Loitz.  Caring aunt of many nieces and nephews.  Theresa was a florist for 36 years, a member of Kiwanis Club of South Chicago Heights, St. Liborius CCW, Credit Professionals of Chicago Heights and a board member of the Crete Pantry for 45 years.  Theresa enjoyed life to its fullest and made friends everywhere she went.  She was a lifelong resident of Steger and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial Mass to take place on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. directly at St. Liborius Catholic Church 71 W. 35th Street, Steger, IL.
