Thomas Beishuizen Jr., age 90, of Schererville, IN, formerly of South Holland, IL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 9, 2021. Loving husband of Celia Beishuizen, nee Huisenga. Devoted father of Larry (Betty) Beishuizen, Terri (Steve) Sluiter, Vicki (Jeff) Evers, and Tom (Jamie) Beishuizen. Cherished grandfather of Bob Beishuizen, Amy (Jake) Triezenberg, Jim (Lisha) Beishuizen, Tom (Rebeka) Beishuizen, Michael (Jenna) Sluiter, Brian (Sara) Sluiter, Brittany (John Marc) Vander Veer, Nicole (Nile) Sandeen, Michelle (Phil) Katzberg, Amanda Evers, Deanna, Ethan, Allie, Tommy, and Bauer Beishuizen; great-grandfather of 17. Dear brother of Ann (late John) Schutt, the late Richard (late Doris) Beishuizen, and the late Robert (late Martha) Beishuizen. Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Fannie Dena Beishuizen. Visitation Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a funeral service to be held at 7:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN, with Rev. Cary Gephart officiating. A private interment will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery – Elwood, IL. Tom was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of Cottage Grove Christian Reformed Church in South Holland. He was a journeyman electrician in Union IBEW 134 for 72 years. Tom loved spending time with his family. He had a great sense of humor and a generous heart often helping out others without recognition. He lived out his faith in Jesus Christ. He left a legacy that will continue on for multiple generations. In lieu of flowers, donations to Illiana Christian High School or Elim Christian Services are greatly appreciated.
