Thomas D'Amico

Thomas James D’Amico age 79 of Mesquite, Nevada (Formerly of Chicago Heights IL) Passed away peacefully with family by his side holding his hand on June 4, 2026, in St George, Utah

Tom was born in Chicago Heights Illinois August 15, 1946. Tom was a heavy equipment operator/ laborer for 40 plus years who showed up rain or shine and did the job right. He built, he fixed, he ran the machines that built other people’s lives. He took pride in calloused hands and an honest day’s work. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, playing video poker with his friends at the casino, and spending time with his grandchildren and cat.

Loving father of Thomas D’Amico Jr, Robert (Samantha) D’Amico, and Anthony (Jasmine) D’Amico. Dear brother of Catherine D’Amico Cherished Grandfather of Caleb, Justin (Kayla) Adalynn, Sawyer, Slayd, Ayla, Aryah and Great Grandfather of Mackenzie, Arianna, Brylee, and Hudson.

Proceeded in death by his parents, Mildred (Sperti) and Robert John D’Amico. Numerous aunts and uncles. Partner and best friend Janet Peretti

The family asks that you honor Tom by listening when someone says “something’s wrong,” by putting in an honest day’s work, and by holding your Grampy’s hand a little longer.

Visitation to be held Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. at Smits – Steger Memorial Chapel, 3045 Chicago Rd, Steger, Illinois 60475. Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery, Glenwood, IL.
