Thomas M. Dwan, Sr.

Thomas M. Dwan Sr., age 97 of Manteno, IL and formerly of South Holland, IL, passed away peacefully Friday, July 13, 2018.  Beloved husband of the late Loretta Dwan, nee Groboski (1999).  Loving father of Nancy Samardzija, Sharon Dwan, and the late Thomas M. Dwan, Jr. (2017).  Dear brother of the late Grace, late Catherine, and the late Irene.  Preceded in death by his parents Martin and Elizabeth Dwan. Fond uncle of many nephews and nieces.  Visitation Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home, 649 E. 162nd St. (Rt.6/159th St.) South Holland, IL.  Prayer service, Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 9:30 A.M. at the funeral home leaving for a funeral mass at 10:00 A.M. at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 880 E. 154 ^th St., South Holland, IL with Rev. Ignatius Anaele officiating. Interment will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery – Alsip, IL.  Mr. Dwan was a W.W. II Army Veteran.  He was a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School and retired after 40 years of service from Chicago Steel and Wire Co.  He was a member of the V.F.W., the American Legion and Moose Lodge and of course… he was a Die-Hard Cubs Fan.
