Thomas Sr. & Sherry Orton both of Merrillville, In. passed away suddenly on November 27,2008.Thomas and Sherry are survived by 2 children Thomas Orton Jr and Shannon (Kris) Orton both of Merrillville, In. In addition Thomas is survived by Mother Carole and Late Father Dale Orton of Steger, Il. one brother Kent (Liz) Orton of DeMotte, In and 3 Sisters Cheryle Carlisle of So. Chicago Heights, Yvonne (Rick) Johnstone of Steger and Darlene Orton of Chicago Heights and his Grandmother Thelma Orton of Steger. He was preceded in death by a brother Clifford in 1980. Sherry is also survived by her parents Tom Uran of French Lick, In and Lynette Uran of So. Chicago Heights, Il. 2 Sisters Patricia (Steve) Rupert of Steger, Il and Tina (Tony) Blejski of Lansing, Il and by one brother Tom (Shannon) Uran of Portage, In. and her Grandmother Gladys Uran of French Lick, In. They are both also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for both will be held on Wednesday December 3rd. at 10:00 A.M. at Smits Funeral Homes- Steger Memorial Chapel, 3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, Il. Interment will be at Skyline Memorial Park, Monee, Il. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 till 9:00 P.M. at Smits Funeral Homes-Steger Memorial Chapel Thomas was a self employed Roofing Contractor and owner of a local tavern.
