Timothy G. Heim, age 70, of Thornton, IL passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 15, 2018. Beloved husband and soulmate of Pamela Heim, nee Gibes. Loving father of Heather Lynn Heim and Holly Ann (Adam) Kelsven. Devoted gramps of Claire Nische Kelsven. Dear brother of Jeffrey "Jay" (Debbie) Heim, William (Bobbie) Heim, Robert (Sharon) Heim, Kevin (Lisa) Heim, Lisa Heim, and Kim (Roy) Smoak and brother-in-law of Al (Diane) Gibes, Peg (Jim) Diederich, and Paula (Josh) Smith. Kind uncle of 4 nieces and 6 nephews. Visitation, Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 2:00 - 9:00 P.M. at Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home, 649 E. 162nd St. (Rt. 6/159th St.) South Holland, IL. Funeral Service, Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home with services conducted by Chaplain Bob Girard. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery - Steger, IL. Mr. Heim was a U.S. Navy veteran and was employed at Acme/Interlake Steel in Riverdale, IL for 31 years. He loved serving his community and since the age of 16 he has served as a Fireman and Paramedic mostly with the Thornton Fire Department. Memorial contributions may be given to the Thornton Fire Department, 115 E. Margaret St., Thornton, IL 60476.
