Verne L. Sliger Jr.

Verne L. Sliger Jr., 82, of St. John, IN passed away on Oct. 7, 2026. Survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Cordes; his sister Marcia (Rod) Renz; his children, Brian (Bettye) and Diana (Paul); many nieces and nephews, and furbaby Zoe. Loving grandfather to Brian Jr., Chrissy (Kirk), Cassandra (Greg), and Joshua, and great-grandfather to Eleanor and Summer. Preceded in death by his first wife Diana “Dee”; three brothers; one sister; and his parents Verne Sr. and Elouise. Verne was a 20-year U.S. Air Force Veteran who was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed. Special thanks to all of the professionals who cared for him in his final days, especially Dena and Joni. We respectfully request no flowers, but memorials to the family are always appreciated.
