Victoria "Vikki" Lee Belgrave

Victoria “Vikki” Lee Belgrave, of Crete, IL, formerly of Tinley Park, IL, passed away on December 18, 2021.  She was born May 10, 1958 to Ronald Earl Belgrave and Julia Louise Ellen (Strache).  Loving mother to Erik Hasenkamp and Alexandria “Lexie” (Andrew) Tauras.  Caring Grandmother to Jameson “Jamie” and Elena “Ellie” Tauras.  Sister to Sandra (Glen) Ransom, Timothy (Katherine) Belgrave, and Daniel (Janet) Belgrave. Beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Vikki graduated from beauty school following high school and spent her life as a hairdresser, makeup artist, nail technician, and many years as a salon owner.  Vikki never met a stranger and had a deep love of people, stories, art, and animals.  She could always be found striking up conversations with strangers and making others feel welcome, or taking in strays and caring for them.  She worked best with her hands and was skilled not only in hairdressing but also art, pottery, macrame, and crocheting.  Vikki put her children, grandchildren, and friends first and will be greatly loved and missed.

Memorial visitation Monday, December 27, 2021 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a memorial service to be held at 6:30 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN, with Deacon Jim Renwick officiating.
