Viola Nootbaar

Viola Nootbaar, nee Vander Giessen, age 78 of Schererville, IN formerly of South Holland, IL went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 30, 2020.  Beloved wife of Gene Nootbaar.  Loving mother of Terry (Rick) Collum, Steve (Julie) Nootbaar and Bruce (Julie) Nootbaar.  Devoted grandmother of Nicole (Taylor) Eldridge, Eric Collum, Amy Nootbaar, and Scott Collum.  Dear sister of Violet (late Howard Parker) (Neal) Van Drunen, late Peter (late Jean)  Vander Giessen, late Betty (late Roy) Bonnema, and the late Joan (late Harry) Scheeringa.  Kind aunt to several nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 P.M. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN with Rev. Dan Svendsen officiating.  Private family burial will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Homewood Memorial Gardens - Homewood, IL.
