Violet L. Kodat (nee Dettmering), 85, of South Chicago Heights, at rest July 7, 2016. Violet is survived by her son, Bruce Kodat, daughter, Beverly (James) Adkins, brother, Emil (Lolita) Dettmering, grandchildren, Cynthia Mancino, Gary Kodat, Janice Manarin, Audra Witherington, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Judson E. Kodat, parents, Emil & Dora (nee Reiches) Dettmering, daughter, Barbara Witherington, sisters, Lucille Lahti, Arlene Wischover, Dorothy VanWitzenberg. Cremation rites were accorded. A visitation will be held Saturday, July 16, 2016 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 3840 W. 216th St., Matteson. A memorial service will immediately follow.
