Walter J. Smith, age 85 of South Chicago Heights, IL. passed away peacefully, January 1, 2020. Beloved husband of the late Beryl Lou R. Smith. Loving father of Beverley (Edward) Burke and Kimberly (Michael) Stokes. Cherished grandfather of Becky (Al) Coulson, Aaron (Lisa Briatta) Burke, Marilyn (Andrew) Campbell, Kelsey Stokes, and Elaine Stokes. Great grandfather of Alli, Jake, Natalie, Lucas, and Violet. Dear brother of Phyllis, Maxine, Gary, late Douglas, and the late Arlene. Cherished friend of Julie. Walter served in United States Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from Chicago Heights Steel after over 40 years of service as an electrician. Walter was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
