Wilbur Earl Kimbrel

Wilbur E. Kimbrel, age 79, of Sauk Village, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 5, 2021.  Beloved husband of Janice Kimbrel, nee Duca.  Loving father of Skip (Shelly), Mike (Becky), Billy (Renee), Linda (Mike), Jenny (Kevin) and Bobby (Jolea).  Dear grandfather of numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Loving brother of Doris (Jay Allen), David (Lavon), Annette, Joseph, Linda (Mike), Donnie (Marie), Glenn (Cathy), Wretha (Al), Barbara (Joel) and the late Carl.  Fond uncle of several nephews and nieces.  Also survived by his uncle Robert, uncle Calvin and aunt  Martha.  Preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Essie Kimbrel, and by his great-granddaughter Maddie.  Mr. Kimbrel was a United States Korean War Army Veteran.  He worked in the steel mills for 50 years, and retired with over 30 years at Arcelor Mittal.  He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Visitation Tuesday, August 10, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN.  ( The service will be live streamed from our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/SmitsFH .
