William P. Hearne Sr., age 81, of Dolton, IL, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 7, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Dona Jean Hearne, nee Fox. Loving dad of Kathleen (Jeff) McDaniel, Margaret Ansburg, Dona (Mark) Gilbert, William (Sue) Hearne Jr., John (Janet) Hearne, Mary Pat Borkowski, and James (Amy) Hearne. Proud “Popsie” of 20 grandchildren. Dear brother of Betty (late Ed) Duggan, late Lauretta (late Jim) Burke, late David Sr. (Jean), late Jim (Ruth) late Bob (Betty), and late Dennis Sr. (Evelyn) Hearne. Kind uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents David J. and Laura C. Hearne. Visitation Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 2:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home James E. Lying in state Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Jude the Apostle Church (880 E. 154th St. South Holland, IL 60473). Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery – Alsip, IL. Bill was an Honorary Life Member of K of C Genoa Council #1659, Past President of St. Jude Holy Name Society, and Proud Mt. Carmel H.S. Alumnus, Class of 1953.
