William L. Lannon, age 91, of Dyer, IN, formerly of Lansing, Dolton and Riverdale, IL, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 11, 2017. Beloved husband of Dorothy J. Lannon, nee Kurowski. Loving father of Kathryn (David Allie) Brewer and Debra Lannon. Proud grandfather of Julie (Dennis) Smith and Lisa (Josh) Hilbert; step-grandfather of Kenneth Allie, Sonya Rohde, and Andrea Vassev; great-grandfather of Angelica and Fiona Smith and Hazel Grace Hilbert. Brother-in-law of Jerry (Marilyn) Kurowski. Preceded in death by his parents William and Bernadette Lannon, and sisters Patricia and Eileen. Mr. Lannon was the Founder of Lannon Cabinets, A-dor-a-bills Crafts, a longtime Supervisor at Republic Steel, Past Master of the Lansing & Riverdale Masons Lodge, Santa Claus for the Lodge for many years, and custodian at Queen of Apostles Church. Visitation Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service to be held at 6:30 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30 & Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN 46311.
