William J. Meuzelaar

William “Bill” J. Meuzelaar, age 87, of Lansing, IL, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, July 13, 2016. Beloved husband for 35 years of Cathie Dykstra Meuzelaar, nee Recker. Loving father of Lynnette (Ron) Lott, Julie (Brian) Vliem, Amy (Jon) Dekker, Valerie (Don) Fedor, Rhonda (Ron) Dommisse, Rachelle (Greg) Oppenhuizen, Brad (Joyce) Dykstra, Russ (Darla) Dykstra, Mark Dykstra, and Joe (Iby) Zsigmond. Proud grandfather of 28, great-grandfather of 22, and 4 expected great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Doris Bielema, the late Rev. Isaac Meuzelaar and the late Grace Woldhuis. Preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy. Visitation Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30&Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN. Funeral service Monday, July 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Church (3642 Lake St. Lansing, IL) with services conducted by Rev. Ron Lott and Rev. Daniel Roels. Private Interment will be held prior to the funeral service at Homewood Memorial Gardens - Homewood, IL. Bill was a Korean War Army veteran. His joy was serving the Lord in many volunteer ministries including the Gideons and Lansing Food Pantry. Memorial contributions may be given to Gideons International or Illiana Christian High School, are greatly appreciated.
