William H. Owen Sr., age 83, of Sauk Village, IL, passed away October 18, 2013 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Bill was born in Roxanna, IL and grew up in Ledford, IL. Bill was the loving husband of Verda L. Owen nee Yates, the love of his life and grandfather to Cody Owen. Bill was the loving and devoted father of William (Judy) H. Owen, Jr. and Kathy (Larry) Hau. Cherished grandfather of Brandi Owen, Larry John (Samantha) Hau and William Hau. Loved great grandfather of Conner Owen. Dear brother of Eulala (Bill) Cooley, Delores (Guy) Randant and David (June) Owen. Visitation Thursday, October 31, 2013 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and funeral service from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Homes Steger Memorial Chapel, 3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, IL. Interment private. Bill was a Past Worshipful Master of Chicago Heights Masonic Lodge and a former Sears hardware salesman. Bill believed in God and family. He dedicated himself to always teaching and loving his family by showing his love, caring and profound wisdom. Well done good and faithful servant.
