William J. Tarrant Sr., age 84, of Dyer, IN, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 2, 2017. Beloved husband of Joanne S. Tarrant, nee Coci. Devoted father of Beth (Mark) Tenney, Amy (John) Buoscio, William Jr. (Karen) Tarrant, Julie (Sergio) Cappello, and Jennifer (Patrick) Philbin. Proud grandfather of 17; great-grandfather of one. Dear brother of Eileen (Jerry) Williamson, Eugene (Adeline) Tarrant, Margaret Porzio, the late John (Liz) Tarrant, late Noreen (late Lou) Caposey, and the late Edward (Phyllis) Tarrant. Preceded in death by his parents John and Hannah Tarrant. Kind uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Prayer service Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. from Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30 & Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN 46311 to St. John the Evangelist Church Day Chapel (11301 W. 93rd Ave. St. John, IN 46373) for a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment St. Mary Cemetery – Evergreen Park, IL.
